The Westmead Program for Stuttering: Activity List

$0.00

One of the hardest things with the Westmead Program for Stuttering – also known as Robot Talking – is finding the time to fit in practice 4-6 times a day.  We all know that the best way to do it is to embed the practice in everyday routines.

A while back, one young client challenged me to come up with a list of activities he could use to practice his robot talking.  Well, I love a good challenge!  And I thought I’d share our list with you, too, for use with your own clients!

You may also wish to check our Westmead Program for Stuttering: Robot Talking Activity Log and Robot Talking Social Story: When my words are too stretchy.

One of the hardest things with the Westmead Program for Stuttering – also known as Robot Talking – is finding the time to fit in practice 4-6 times a day. We all know that the best way to do it is to embed the practice in everyday routines.

But, if I had a dollar for every time a young client said “I couldn’t find the time to practice”, I would be obnoxiously rich – and probably powerful. A while back, one young client challenged me to come up with a list of activities he could use to practice his robot talking. Well, I love a good challenge! And I thought I’d share our list with you, too, for use at home or with your own clients!

Cheryl Andrews and her colleagues from the Australian Stuttering Research Centre, have published the results of their Phase II trial of a syllable-timed speech treatment for school-aged children who stutter. Our article about it can be accessed here.
